The emarine vibratorf is a broad band marine seismic source able to generate modulated frequencies from 10 to 250 hz. It is intended for use in deep water, shallow water, and transition zones. It is an "environmentally friendly" source which generates less peak pressure in the water than air guns. It is also able to generate full acoustic output in a water depth of one meter. This gives the emarine vibratorf greater output than air guns in shallow water and transition areas. Since the signal is generated over several seconds it produces less peak pressure than air guns. The 'marine vibrator', therefore, is less disruptive to marine life than air guns.
