HS-J
General Description

Geo Space manufactures high quality, low cost geophones for geophysical, industrial and military uses. These geophones have an unlimited shelf life and provide years of trouble-free service applications where accurate motion sensing is required.

HS-J geophones are rugged, self-generating velocity detectors which convert mechanical motion into electrical signals. These detectors are ideal for vibration analysis, machinery balancing and intrusion detection.

Natural frequencies range from 10 to 28 Hz and sensitivities from .265 to .960 V/in/s (10.4 to 37.8 V/m/s). Sensitivity to motion is along the longitudinal axis. HS-J geophones are designed to operate in only one position, either vertical or horizontal.

Notes:
1. Maximum tilt angle, is the limit for which G, Fn, Roc, and Bo are within specified tolerances. HS-J geophones operate with relaxed tolerances and reduced displacement limits at orientation angles greater than specified.
2. HS-J geophones are designed to operate in only one orientation: please specify vertical or horizontal.
3. Damping factor is fraction of critical damping.
4. Sensitivity, natural frequency, coil resistance and damping factor are 100% tested. Consult the factory for special tests required to guarantee other functional parameters and shock limits.
5. Consult the factory for ordering information and specifications on optional protective housings and custom geophones with non-standard characteristics.
